Environmental Management Agency

Dear Valued Customer:

As you know, we are in unprecedented circumstances at this time with COVID-19. In alignment with direction of the Centers for Disease Control, the California Department of Public Health, and the Public Health and Administration Departments of Calaveras County we have changed our operations as follows:

1. Wherever possible, we will work to meet your needs electronically without person-to-person interaction.

Services that can be provided in this manner include:

2. We realize that a number of services are best provided through person-to-person interaction with our Permit Tech staff at our front counter. We ask that these interactions be made by appointment by calling (209) 754-6399.

3. We will not turn away people at the door who need our service. However, customers will be admitted one person at a time (or two persons involved in the same project) in order to maintain required social distancing. If you provide us with your cell phone number at the door, we will contact you when counter space is available.

We ask that if you are experiencing any signs of illness, please use options 1 or 2, above and not attempt a person-to-person interaction with our staff.

I am sorry for the inconvenience resulting from these changes, but as the EMA Director, it is my highest priority to put the health of our staff and the senior members of their families first in how we deliver our services.

Whenever possible, we ask that you evaluate your information needs and consider whether it can be communicated via scan, fax, email, phone, or other means (cell phone picture, etc.) that limits physical interactions.  If you are experiencing any signs of illness, we ask that you stay home and conduct your HR business electronically/telephonically to limit exposure.

Human Resources is taking extra precaution by sanitizing our office and lobby after every visitor.  All our staff follow CDC guidelines and safety protocols of regularly washing hands, sanitizing touchpoints, limited physical contact, and staying home if they are unwell.
